Handy tips

Don’t get stuck in the snow

Keep a bag of cat litter in your car’s boot during winter. When stuck in the snow scatter it behind the traction wheels for traction.

Alternatively, when stuck, place the rubber mats from the car behind the traction wheels. They might just provide enough traction to get out of the snow.

Fish smell on hands

After working with raw fish, rub your hands with a mixture of vinegar, lemon juice and some salt. Then rinse the hands in warm water and then wash it normally. That will prevent the fishy smell from setting on your hands.

Blisters

Before putting on your training shoes for a workout, put a large blob of Vaseline over any area of your feet that regularly blisters.

Stuck in mud or sand

A hub-cap of your vehicle can be used as a spade if the car gets stuck in the mud or sand.
