Hendrik de Villiers: An accolade for the people behind The Burn Machine

As human beings we are quick to criticize and complain about poor service delivery but when it is time for compliments we are dragging our feet.

Today I want to get out of this mould and dish out an accolade to a Company that exceeded my expectations of good customer service and relations by far.

A few weeks ago I ordered on behalf of my son the Intermediate Speedbag and the Universal Barbell from The Burn Machine Company in Redford, Michigan. Remember, I am in South Africa. After two weeks only one (1) item was delivered to me. As it was supposed to be two (2) items I enquired from The Burn Machine whether they indeed shipped both items. Their response was positive and I confirmed that I only received one (1) item.

We must just put one thing straight. I never questioned their integrity that they did not send both items but maybe there was a delay or it was out of stock. I realised that somewhere after it left their warehouse and before it could reach my home, it got lost and I told my son “let us cut our losses”.

Then came the surprize of my life. I received an e-mail message from The Burn machine: ” Please be advised a new unit will go out today. I will send out a green unit with a complementary pouch today – Vanessa Suede”. That was on 13 October 2010 and yesterday, 22 October 2010 I received this complementary item.

This is customer care and service out of this world!

It was therefore my duty to give them credit where credit was due and it was indeed due.

Therefore, I can recommend the Burn Machine any time!
